Day Fifteen- Letting Go of Judgment

We all make mistakes. We have weaknesses, we have faults. Nobody’s perfect. We all are in constant need of the mercy of God. Thankfully, the Bible tells us in Lamentations 3:22-23 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”  A fresh portion of mercy is available every morning. What would our lives look like if we not only received God’s mercy every day, but also allowed it to flow through us to other people?

The world is full of criticism, harsh opinions, and conditional love.  What people really need is a little kindness and compassion. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves to just give other people a break!

While we’re at it, we need to give ourselves a break, too! Holding ourselves to an impossible standard guarantees failure every time. We don’t have to be perfect. We need to have a merciful approach with ourselves, as well as others.

Letting go of judgment will free us to see others the way that God sees them. Choose mercy over judgment and extend the love of God to those you encounter today.

“For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.”~James 2:13
